Period maps, period newspapers.

Aside from one newspaper mention, nothing else has been uncovered on this intriguing cycle track. Intriguing because it was overgrown with grass in June 1935, which would make it one of the earliest cycle tracks in the U.K.

“The fact that the cycle track at Riverside Drive, Dundee, is in a bad state of disrepair was brought to the notice of the Works Committee of Dundee Town Council yesterday,” reported the Dundee Courier on 4 June 1935.

“Mr J. M. Fraser said that in some places the grass was growing to a height of 18 inches. The track was cracked and broken and cyclists could not use it.”

Large scale OS mapping does not show the cycle track.
